In this position, not only did I administer the LLI curriculum to my students, I believe that I went above and beyond to provide a safe and respectful learning environment. The students and I played games to enhance their phonics skills, used new strategies to strengthen their phonological awareness, and actively read together to boost their confidence.
During my time at McDonald Local School District, I filled out IAT forms and attended corresponding meetings, participated in parent/teacher conferences, and attended the Heggery Phonological Awareness training. All of these things were done in an effort to ensure student success.
Aside from my normal group schedule, the LLI team and I put on a Dr. Seuss Cafe experience for kindergarten - third grade, and a book tasting for fourth - sixth grade. Even though we did not work as closesly with grades 4-6, we wanted to make sure we extended our love for reading to them.

Long Term Subbing
Druing my first year in the education field, I was fortunate enough to work all yar as a long term maternity sub in three different school districts. I was able to experience a self contained classroom, and two departementalized classrooms. I was able to gain ideas for what I would like to bring to my future classroom along with what I think may not benefit my fututre classroom. I am very grateful for the opportunities I had in these different classrooms to be able to grow as an educator.
